“Top Class excellent value”

This place stood out for a number of reasons and staying here was a great choice. Although South Molton is small it was perfectly located. The owners Jamie and Nicky take great pride in making guests feel welcome. The house has been carefully and beautifully restored. The decor is first rate right down to all the small touches. The bedroom was as delightful as any guest house I’ve stayed in and was a sympathetic take on old style with modern fittings. I chose to have a full English breakfast which comprised of top quality food perfectly cooked. Their own hens even laid the eggs! In the evening I ventured out for food and as there was no Indian restaurant in the village I asked Jamie if I could bring a takeaway back which was absolutely no problem and I returned to find a table laid in the breakfast room. Parking was secure behind electric gates and Jamie kindly allowed me to park the next day as I was working close by. My only disappointment was the fact I was on my own working locally and my wife was unable to share this little gem of a place with me. For the experience I had the b&b rate was excellent value and I could wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone.

“Return Visit”

Stayed here a year ago and delighted to find it was as good as we remembered. Could only book the smaller downstairs room as the others were already taken, but found it very comfortable with all the facilities we needed for our two night stay. Breakfast is a real treat here. We always start with good intentions of fruit and yoghurt, but can not resist the cooked breakfast and perhaps a little of the homemade marmalade on some toast! Thank you Nicky for making our stay so enjoyable.

“Cracking B&B”

We stayed at the Ashley House B&B September 2016 and had a lovely couple of days.

The character property is a short walk from what is a very quaint Devon town which has a market and the area itself is a good base to get around Devon. Only 25 minutes to Ilfracombe where we had family.

The owner was very friendly and professional and does a cracking breakfast, with chickens at the back of the garden no doubt supplying the breakfast eggs. How much fresher can you get?

The car park is a bit tight but we had a large car (Bentley) and still managed to get in and out ok.

Entire house and gardens are well presented to a high standard with toiletries supplied in the en-suite bathroom.

No rules or hassles, just given a key and gate remote control so we could come and go as we wanted. No noises or distractions, just a very chilled stay.

Would definitely return.

“Just lovely!”

Very much enjoyed my 2 nights at this darling b&b. My room was comfortably cosy and had everything I needed. I had a lovely view of the beautiful garden which was great. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and I felt very welcome throughout my stay. The amount of effort being put into running Ashley House really shows. Lovely location too, very easy to get to. Highly recommended!

“Gem of a B&B, Highly Recommended”

What a gem of a place to stay that Nikki & Jamie have created, the standard of accommodation is excellent and puts many hotels to shame. A very friendly welcome on arrival and throughout the stay, a marvellous breakfast awaits, from locally sourced “all the works” to homemade jams you just have to try and it is doubtful you will find a better fruit mixture anywhere.

Finding I had ancestors to chase up was our lucky chance to find Ashley House. Great location to explore the local area, South Molton itself or just a break. Highly Recommended

“A gem of a place”

In the heart of South Molton this is a truly lovely B&B. Both Nicky and Jamie are wonderful, the breakfast superb. Rooms are well equipped and all the little touches were greatly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

“Why stay anywhere else!”

This is the best B&B we have stayed at- Nikki and Jamie ensure you want for nothing. The extras make the difference – cafetiere, selection of teas and fresh milk not the awful uht tubs on the tea tray, comfortable beds and pillows with quality bed linen, well cooked breakfast using local produce and the friendliness – we visit South Molton regularly and will continue to return to Ashley House………

“Superb B&B accommodation in South Molton”

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel more than welcome. Jamie carried our luggage to our room and gave us our keys. He gave us details of the times for breakfast and showed us the doors for our use at the front and the back of the property. He also suggested a local place to eat on our first evening if we didn’t want to take the car out. Our room was excellent – very clean and well presented with a spotlessly clean en suite facility. We met Nicky the following morning when we went down for breakfast and she was immediately friendly, attentive and ready to cook any combination of breakfast for us. Throughout our stay both Jamie and Nicky were excellent hosts.

Room Tip: Room no. 2 overlooks the beautiful tree and walkway at the front of the property.
